Marker Sketching for fashion and beyond:

finally!

Are you terrified of marker sketching? For fashion illustration or otherwise?

Overhwhelmed by the types and choices?  So many KINDS of Art Markers, Design Markers.  Brush tip, chisel tip, watercolor markers, pigment markers, alcohol markers, permanent markers, India ink, waterproof, water soluble, washable, etc, etc, etc?????????    The Charpak ID pens,  Prismacolor Markers, Copic Markers? Tomboy Markers, Pitt Pens and Microns, Sharpies and Blender markers?  Fine line, broad tip, dual tip GOOD LORD!!!!

It’s overwhelming!

Marker PAPER? Regular paper? Bleed through? How many art markers can I afford to start? Do I have to spend a fortune? (NO!)

Or do you just HATE markers– I did.

I felt they were to sheer, too flat, too think, too smelly and wasteful, all dried up, toxic, un “color-mixable”……oh, I could go on.

Then, I started doing some digital drawing on the iPad and the chisel tipped marker and brush tipped black pen became two of my favorite tools.

(see my ABOUT FACE online course to learn digital painting apps while learning and practicing faces)

THEN I had an experience where I HAD TO USE MARKERS for live fashion sketching events because I needed something that dries REALLY FAST!

and then it all started to unfold (I figured, I can’ do good work with them unless I love them! So I made myself fall in love. It was easy).

I LOVE MARKER SKETCHING!
